Dutch Turban Cake with Ground Anise and Banana
Dutch Turban Cake with Ground Anise and Banana
This cake is for 12 people, prep: 15 mins. Baking: about 60 mins. Cooling: 10 mins plus 60.
Ingrediënts:
2 very ripe medium bananas
125 gr créme fraîche
100 gr raisins
450 gr cakeflour
3 eggs (L)
50 ml milk
180 ml canola oil
8 gr baking powder
1 tblsp ground anise seeds
2 tblsp Icing sugar
Equipment:
A toothpick or caketester, turban cake tin, but if you use a Bundt adjust your baking time
An electric (stand) mixer and bowls
1. Grease/spray your tin and preheat your oven to 160C or 325F.
2. Mash the bananas and mix with the créme fraîche and the raisins. Set aside.
3. Mix the cakeflour, eggs, milk, canola oil, baking powder and the anise in a large bowl. Mix for 1 minute. Add the bananamixture and mix until it is well combined.
4. Pour the mixture into your caketin and bake until done in the middle of your oven for about 55-60 minutes. Check with your caketester after about 50 minutes to see how it's doing.
5. If the toothpick comes out clean, take the cke from the oven but leave it in the tin for about 10 minutes. Turn it out onto your cooling rack and leave to cool for 1 hour. Sprinkle it with icing sugar before serving.
This cake was baked in a Dutch kitchen in The Netherlands. And no baking materials were harmed in any way.
