Frosted Walnut Layer Cake





Frosted Layer Cake




This is a truly old-fashioned cake iced with a simple 'American frosting', says Mary Berry.

I say: Not too difficult to 'frost' and  it tastes scrumptious!


What do we need:

225  gr softened butter
225 gr  caster sugar
4 large eggs
225 gr self-raising flour
2 level teaspoons baking powder
100 gr finely chopped walnuts

For the frosting:

2 large egg whites
350 gr caster sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4  level teaspoon cream of tartar

To decorate:

walnut halves



I think it looks stunning and it is not too difficult to make, so i'm sure you'll get a few oohs and aaahs!









With a little chocolate.
